Senior Systems Engineer Pay 110K-124K Contract The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and support the build, upgrade, and maintenance of the organization’s email and VMWare environments. This includes the management and migration of a hybrid Exchange environment to Exchange Online, the upgrade of VMware and hosts, and the build and migration of clinical and business applications to supported versions of Microsoft Windows Server. This role will include both operational tasks and project activities.
The candidate must have excellent customer-facing listening and communication skills, have attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills and follow-through.
Job Duties are as follows but not limited to: 1. Design, manage, and support the systems environment as assigned. 2. Plan and upgrade Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, and Azure/M365 infrastructure and related components 3. Administer, manage, and maintain components for on-premises and cloud-based virtualized systems 4. Respond to and resolve service desk requests and incidents. 5. Provide Technical Support to Project Teams 6. Manage user account information, including rights, security, and systems groups in Active Directory and other platforms and analyze and update GPOs. 7. On-Call Support when required to support project and operational activations, maintenance, and upgrades 8. Other duties as required by management.
Knowledge/Ability 1. Working knowledge of Service Desk ticketing systems and ticket assignment, tracking, and closure. 2. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and it’s interaction with Active Directory, preferably in a Hybrid environment with Exchange Online 3. Experience with HP StoreOnce and 3Par preferred 4. Working knowledge of Exchange Online and of Exchange Hybrid designs and operations 5. Experience managing Office 365 using PowerShell 6. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory design and implementation options and understanding of active directory sync into Azure AD 7. Experience with Group Policy Management 8. Experience with Windows DNS and DHCP 9. Experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019 10. Experience and strong understanding of File and Storage Services, to include Distributed File System (DFS) Replication and Namespace management 11. Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages 12. Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow 13. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. 14. Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to thrive in a critical environment 15. Educational and Professional Qualifications • BA or BS degree preferred or other relevant combination of training and experience • Certifications preferred
Experience: • 5 or more year’s experience in providing server build, deployment, support, and upgrades • Health IT or highly regulated environment preferred
Travel Requirements: • May require local travel • May require other travel for business needs
